I would also like to add something: Your resume is the initial interview a HR rep has to review your information. What I have seen lately and comments from our hiring authorities:
- Resume format: Comments – a format is posted, why are the candidates not using it?
Please, reiterate to the candidates not to use tables, squares, excel spreadsheet type formats. When the client has a choice between a properly formatted resume and one that is built on tables the client will take time and work with the properly formatted resume.
- Military resumes: When applying for military type positions, use your military resume with all the terminology that is required. Please add your instructor time, qualifications, and all schools pertinent to the position applying for.
- Spell check: Must I explain?
- Read the position descriptions: Read the job description and try mirror your qualifications to that position – totally understand generic resumes – however, update your resume to fill certain positions.
- Please put your email address on your resume
Thank you for your Service, but put your attention to detail to work
